Clean Electricity on the Lucrezia Market

Did you know that since the electricity market has been ‘liberalised’, you can now choose your electricity provider and how your electricity is produced; either atomic power, abusing our limited reserves, or long-lasting i.e. climate friendly power which is also positive for the future. As users and customers, we are no longer, dependent on energy suppliers that prefer nuclear power and solid fuel such as coal, but we can now support the development of a new future in energy as we have the chance to change our electricity provider.

Clean Electricity on the Lucrezia Market

The Chernobyl disaster demonstrated the dangers of nuclear power, and since then there have been distinct climate changes through the output of carbon dioxide from the increasing waste of our limited resources, and the consequences (war, drought, flooding…), that threaten the future quality of life on our planet.

With this uncomfortable reality in mind, the Regensburger Arts and Crafts group want to take some responsibility to protect our climate and energy resources by being pro-active: for the entirety of the Market in 2007 we are using 100% Eco electricity from renewable sources, decreasing the usage of nuclear energy and reducing the glass-house effect. With the limited usage of 16,000 kW/h during the Lucrezia Market we are preventing ca. 3664kg CO2 emissions and millions of becquerel radioactive waste.

As a result of these perspectives on Climate Change, we have not only changed our electricity source for the Market but have also installed low energy bulbs to drastically reduce our energy usage.  So this year we can light up our stands with a peaceful mind and conscience, and let the visitors enjoy a lovely atmosphere in the heart of Regensburg in the knowledge that we are protecting our environment as well.

We are buying our Eco power from “Rewario Natur” who use “ natural electricity”. If you are considering changing your electricity provider, compare other suppliers, e.g. the Electricity Power Station at Schoenau (www.ews-schoenau.de) or Greenpeace (www.greenpeace-energy.de).
